Building Opportunity for Student Success | BOND 2025
#BUILDINGOPPORTUNITY
Preparing for growth
Increasing educational opportunities for every student
Enhancing the environment for student success
The Spring Hill School District proposes a $60 million bond to support its growing student population and infrastructure needs. With enrollment expected to increase by 950 students over the next five years, this bond will fund key projects, including new additions at Spring Hill High School and expansions at elementary schools. The proposal ensures there will be no mill levy increase for residents. For more details, including key dates and project specifics, read on.
NOTE: MIAMI COUNTY RESIDENTS
Due to an error by the Johnson County Election Office, the ballot incorrectly states 'Legal residential address in Johnson County' beneath the signature line. Miami County voters should cross out 'Johnson County' and write in 'Miami County' instead. The election office has confirmed that this correction will be accepted. Our Story of Growth
Since the 2018 bond, Spring Hill School District has experienced significant growth. Enrollment increased from 3,157 students in 2018/19 to 3,925 students in 2023/24, a rise of 24.4%. This growth is mainly due to the influx of families moving into the area and the construction of new homes. The 2018 bond helped by funding new schools, like Forest Spring Middle School, which opened in 2023. It also helped create more space in elementary schools that were nearing capacity.
Over the last five years, many new single-family homes have been built, adding more students to the district. In addition, more students have moved into the district, further contributing to the growth. The district expects this trend to continue, with projections for an additional 950 students over the next five years, bringing total enrollment to 4,875 by the 2028/29 school year. Most of this growth will be at the elementary level, with about 470 more students. The middle and high schools will also grow, with 210 more students at the middle school level and 271 at the high school level. However, some schools are expected to reach full capacity soon, including Timber Sage Elementary by 2025/26, Spring Hill Elementary, Prairie Creek Elementary, and Spring Hill High School by 2027/28.
By 2030, enrollment is projected to exceed 5,500 students as more homes are built—around 11,700 new households (homes+apartments) in the next 10 years. While the 2018 bond helped with current growth, the district must plan for more space in the coming years.

The Importance of Being Tax-Minded
At Spring Hill Schools, we are committed to being tax-conscious in approaching this new bond proposal.
We understand that our community values keeping taxes down, which is why the Board of Education is focused on a zero increase to the mill levy. This means that while the district will meet its needs and continue to provide excellent educational opportunities, the mill rate will remain unchanged.
